I have a friend who advocates trimming the vines because they would add weight to the branches in case of wind storms or hurricanes. I thing they will keep the limbs swinging in the wind and not falling full weight on the roof if I leave them on the trees. Take your pick – opposite ends of the bell shaped curve.
