Three blue bowls, stacked on top of each other, on a lace doily and a wooden background.

I loved making this Cascade set, but am sad to say that the large bowl didn’t make it; it cracked in the kiln firing. Boo, I know!

It’s always the ones that look simple and classy that take the longest to make. Here’s about a weeks worth of work, cut down into three videos!

First stage was putting engobe on the bottom, and one color (three coats, but I only show one, for brevity’s sake) for the whole of each piece, inside and out.

The second video is a second glaze color, this one only on about the bottom half of each piece, following the line of the waves on the piece. I do love the texture on these! It’s so wavy, cascadey. It reminds me of waves, and waterfalls.

Last, but not least, a third glaze color, this one on about the top half of each piece, again following the line of the waves on the piece but overlapping the second color just a titch, to encourage pretty drips. Also on this video? The finished pieces at the end. Which you can also find online, here!

Thanks, y’all!
