The March Patreon ceramics! This is Part One, and believe me, it was tough to edit this one down. Part One is the making of the pieces, and Part Two (in a day or two) will be the glazing, and showing it off finished. This was a really fun build! In fact, editing the video made me want to make more of them… you know, in all my copious free time, haha. Seriously, though, I do plan to make more although I probably won’t have them for a few months.
And here’s Part Two of the March Patreon Ceramics; the glazing. The Glazening? Haha. While I’m definitely planning on refining these and making more, I’m a little disapointed in the glazing. The leaves came out darker than I wanted, and the mushrooms came out a little more on the green side. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not UNHAPPY with them, I’m just not absolutely over the moon. But that’s what the handmade process is all about, you know? Play, process, produce. This is still the “play” phase, the making of things for the first time. Now I’m processesing, thinking about what I’d do differently. Soon I’ll produce more. When you buy things that are made by hand, you’re not only buying everything the artist has ever made before, you’re also buying everything they messed up on and learned from.
