Oops. The one where I hit “post” before figuring out a title.

Goshdammit, it’s one of those “I have so many things to do I don’t even know where to start” kind of days. One thing I need to do is order a new mouse for my office, it’s no longer right-clicking without a serious discussion about how much do I *really* want it to click and how much violence am I prepared to use.

I’m legit OBSESSED right now with my livecam birdfeeder. Do I lie in bed at night falling asleep to watching all the bird videos from the day? Mayyyyyyyyyyybe. So far it’s mostly a couple of tufted titmouses (titmice?) and a cardinal, but I’ve gotten one yellow rumped warbler, and just this morning the cardinal brought a lady-friend!

Do I want about six more of these? Yep. Can my janky, low-grade, always-spotty rural wifi handle it? Absolutely not. Ugh.

Remember a month or two ago, I asked if anyone had a fitness RING, because I hate my fitness WATCH? And I said that my favorite thing ever had been the Bellabeat Leaf, which clipped to my bra (or my shirt if I’m not wearing a bra), but there was some kind of glitch in the matrix and it didn’t sync with the Google Pixel phone? Well, since it had been about a year, I wondered if they’d done any updates, so I put a new battery in the Leaf, wore it for a couple of days, and then tried to sync it… AND IT WORKED! So now I’m no longer wearing the fitness watch, and I’m no longer in the market for a fitness ring. Knock on wood, anyway. I love the Leaf, it tracks just what I want – steps, and sleep, and you only have to change the battery about every five or six months. Now, though, I’m thinking about buying an under-the-desk walking pad, just so I can get some extra steps in while I’m working on computer things, as a work-time supplement to walking on the treadmill while watching TV (which means I’ll probably spend about two days researching every walking pad thingamajig, and then decide it’s too much trouble, and not get one).

IRELAND IN 25 DAYS!!!

That’s all I really have to say about that. I’m nervous and excited.

I’m coming up on two years of being a widow. Sometimes – a lot of times – that still doesn’t seem real. Not “unreal that it’s been two years” but “unreal that it’s a thing at all.” I want to write a post about how I’m doing, but this is one of those … if I don’t write something, will people assume I’ve forgotten about him and judge me for being uncaring? But if I do write something, will people judge me for being oversensitive and fishing for anniversary drama and attention? I want neither of those things. I just want people who care about me to know how I’m doing. Of course, as I say that out loud, I’m reminded of the Bernard Baruch quote, “Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter, and those who matter don’t mind.”

OK; that’s about it for this post. I have some Patreon fiction writing to do, and I’d like to write another blog post for here, and for Patreon, And I have some laundry to do. I did already restock all the birdfeeders with fresh food (uh, although, I do have a fifth pole and some feeders on order to hang near my new livecam feeder, and they should be here later today, ahhahahahhaa, I’m not obsessed, I can stop any time) so that’s one thing off my list for today. And cleaning the dishes off the counter and putting them in the dishwasher. Which is getting stinky… I think I’m going to have to research how to empty that trap thing that’s in there. Ew. I just know it’s going to be a horror show.

ANYWAY.

Have a good… whatever today is! It’s all Blursday to me. 😉

My life is an open book; but somebody has torn out a few of the pages.

  1. Kid,
Joke ’em if…. write what you want or don’t.
Those keeping score are leaving somebody else alone, (hopefully).

  2. I’ve been looking at those underdesk pedal things but I shouldn’t read the reviews which are all terrible so I’m not getting one now. Not going to buy the ‘as seen on tv’ one which is 4 x more expensive than others on Amazon.
