I can tell it’s past time to write a blog post, since when I go to write something vaguely introspective on Social Media, I write a small novel. Don’t I wish I could write a small novel when I sit down to actually WORK on my novel, instead of getting immediately sidetracked by a cat hurking up or some laundry that needs to be moved from the washer to the dryer. Sigh. Life with someone who has the attention span of a gnat.
Speaking of Social Media… aaaaaaaand I just discovered that both Search and Categories are broken with this new theme I started using. You can click on a Category, or use the Search button (very tiny, upper right corner, not helpful or easy to find) but it still just gives you 258 pages worth of posts. JFC, I’ve been blogging for a long time! OK, note to self, work on fixing that this week even if it means changing the theme again.
So, I wanted to think out loud about Social Media and Advertising (that’s what made me look for previous posts). I made this post in 2014 (!) about where to find HaldeCraft online, and boy howdy does that need to be updated. Google+??? I swear G+ existed just to introduce Donna and I to each other (the rest is history). I was hoping that was a post about how I approach the Socials, but sadly, not much. I should make a new post that’s exactly like that, only set to now.
I also wrote this, in 2019, about how to possibly reschedule my work day, and all I can say is …. the more things change, the more they stay the same. I should do an overhaul of that post, as well, since so much has changed (like my ability to work long hours after being so sick). I have still been doing mostly the same thing as in that post, other than (a) not as many hours and (b) taking a full day for Office Work and (b2) thinking about actually making that two full days, since editing videos takes a long time and I’m starting to want to do different things in the evenings than computer work.
Huh. And then I wrote this in 2016 and meant to turn some ideas in there into a series about how to effectively juggle work/home when you work at home… but I never specifically got back to that. Those are topics I talk about a lot, but I never did an official Five Part Series (note to self, add that to planner).
Speaking of planners, I have a new planner I’ve been meaning to write a post about (I know my planner peeps are out there!). The short version is that it’s a digital/online planner, which I never thought I’d use, let alone like… but I’ve been using it steadily for three or four months now, and while I keep learning ways to make it more effective, I haven’t started looking for a new planner — which is something I usually do at about four months, haha! Fickle, me. Well, maybe not any more….? It’s called the Artful Agenda if you want to check it out before I get around to doing a writeup, and one of the things I will be talking about is how I almost didn’t sign up for it because it was so Laura Ashley flowery, but it doesn’t have to be that way.
Somewhat related to all of this, there are three things I’ve been feeling the urge to do again, things I haven’t really done since Tim died. One is read a chapter or three before going to bed – this happened to me when my dad died, and when Heath died, and when Tim died; I lost my ability to concentrate long enough to read anything. Oh, I could read a whole page and turn it, but the second I turned the page I would have forgotten what was on the page I’d just read. I had no retention ability and just sort of ran my eyeballs over the words without taking them in and instead thinking about everything and nothing. One is feeling a pull to write a blog post every morning while I’m having my coffee. And the third thing is instead of continuing to do light computer work while the TV is on in the background in the evenings… knitting, while watching something that’s more substantive (I have a long list of unwatched recommendations). All of those feel like things, parts of myself, my previous self, that I’m getting back, albeit slowly, so … maybe that will help. Help what? I don’t know. Me?
OK, more soon…!

The new layout LOOKS yummy. I’m sure you’ll find a way to make it word better for you.
I went ahead and downloaded a new one this morning. I couldn’t find a way to fix the other one, and the guy’s website wasn’t very helpful with contact info about just having one question about the design. It was easier to pick a new one, lol.
