LOVE – Amputee cat learns to walk with new bionic rear feet.

Also LOVE – she’s sold out of them right now, but I may need some of these merit badges. Hee.

Did you know we recently celebrated the 30th Anniversary of Airplane?! Surely I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue! Related: think you know the movie pretty well? Take this quiz!

Woman in hospital gets wrong let amputated – seriously, one of my big fears should I ever go in for a surgery like that. I’m going to be the one with the magic marker writing all over the other limb “NOT THIS ONE, JACKASS!”.

An apartment… made of bookshelves.

Here’s one for Sharon – two-headed kitty, born in West Virginia!

Famous Hollywood movie sets… in miniature!

So awesome – pin-up girl calendar… in x-ray!

I live in an odd town; a good portion of the locals move away as soon as they graduate, as do a good portion of people who come here only for college. Where do they go? This interactive map will show you (or show you where people are moving to your city from, or where they’re leaving to).

Thanks to Alanis Morissette (and I may be spelling her name wrong, but whatevs), I get crap every time I use the phrase “that’s ironic”; something I said for years before That Song. Here’s a funny look at the three most common uses of irony.

Speaking of irony; armless woman named best embroiderer in her village.

I expect, once I start selling ceramics, to get questions like this.

Some stories you just can’t make up: A culinary argument between a brother and sister about whether to use butter or margarine turned violent, resulting in an attack with a knife-edged barbecue spatula.

Bwahaha! Why I shouldn’t carry an air horn. Awesome.

This has been around already, but… who needs rock-paper-scissors when you could be playing monkey-pirate-robot-ninja-zombie?!

Mostly I don’t read “mommy blogs” because, you know, that’s how you come down with children (kids! they’re like the flu! casual contact can cause them!) but almost always, this blog makes me laugh… or sniffle.

This one’s for Craig – Lego ship in a glass bottle.

Here’s one for the pajama-wearing yarn lovers out there. You know who you are!

Something that I’ve actually always kind of been curious about; where do locals, as opposed to tourists, take photos?

OMGawesome – 100 artists decorate Vader’s head.

Women scientists on the debate over women in science. (long read; worth it)

I just don’t even know what to say about this – Angry clowns decry armed robbery by impostors dressed as clowns.

Here’s one for Sharon – we should have done this at the bookstore (except that – thank the FSM – neither of us worked in Text). Hee hee hee. Related: Holy crap, I used to get questions like this all the time. Somewhat related: This is why I hate people who say they have food allergies when they don’t. And this one’s for Bonnie – this made me think of you, and some of the things you’ve said people have asked you, without thinking first. Lastly: I have seen my future.

Do you see faces in inanimate objects? So do I, which is why I’m glad I found Happy Chair is Happy. Old Man Typewriter is Not Obsolete!

Are you drinking? Either swallow or prepare to spray your keyboard.

Whoa – MetaFilter is good for something – MetaFilter Saved My Pals From Sex Traffickers.

Hee hee hee – Before I met you, my heart was a crap taco.

This would be funnier except I know someone who would actually do that. :shudder: Furries are creepier than clowns. Related: People are weird. Also, demanding. Also, dumb.

And soon they will jump into the sky, fly away, and thank us for all the fish.

Jorge Garcia (Hurley) had a rather sad leaving of Hawaii after LOST. I has a sad for him.

What really happens on Dubai motorways; apparently staged, but… still. Wow.

I’m tempted to try to get more comments on my blog by trying this. Hee hee hee.

Need more humor? What your email address says about your computer skills.

Paulina’s parents were awesome (I would totally make Tim do that… well, I’d try, anyway. It would probably end up just being a photo of me.).

Spider-web made from packing tape. I feel like it really is, when trying to get that crap off my fingers.

While these particular charms aren’t necessarily ones that apply to my life, maybe a charm bracelet wouldn’t be a bad way to remember to do things!

I like vintage, but have to agree… I’m kind of glad these are gone.

Bwahah! Fuck you, flowers!

None of these are drinks I consume, but still… comparing the sugar content is fascinating.

Here’s one for DA – The Star Wars Craft Book.

I used to work at bookstores. Sadly, a lot of the customers were like this. Related: people are frighteningly unobservant and incredibly self-interested. But sometimes funny – Are you retarded? He had to poop!

My Parents Were Awesome hasn’t had much lately that’s caught my eye… until Anonymous (is it the sausage? the look on his face? either way, awesome!)

Occasionally Lovely Listing, rather than making fun of something, links to something that really is lovely.

12 Awesome Science Fiction Lunchboxes – I would have proudly carried that Bionic Woman one!

Ever feel like the things in your house are against you? They are… they are!

Fascinating. For the last few years, the same dog has shown up at many Greek protests.

This is something I’ve often wondered. Which viewers are, or should, TV networks listen to?

Especially funny at the end if you know the lyrics. When the moon

Lovely Listing: so, does the old man come with the house…?

Regretsy: Just don’t wear it around a goat. Hee hee hee. Related: Oh, spell-check, you fickle beast.

Ahahahaha! Screamingly funny crash reports.

Now, here’s a shirt I need. Hee hee hee.

I don’t know if I liked this article or not… probably because I really *do* have food allergies (and if one more person asks me if maybe I just ate healthy free-range chickens because maybe I wouldn’t be allergic to them, I’m going to punch a baby in the face. Or ask if they have the technology to rework the DNA of the chicken so that it’s actually a cow.). It’s not an intolerance; it’s an allergy. My throat swells shut. It’s not just not liking it -  if I don’t like it, I’ll just tell you. Gah! Now I’m all worked up.

This makes me a little sad: Last typist booted out of Writer’s Room. I’m sure they allow noisy assholes on cell-phones, though.

Interesting. A food magazine editor and two professional chefs make a weeks worth of healthy meals to feed a family of four, on the average food stamp budget.

From the Department of Lightning May Strike Me for Laughing so Hard: 20-year-old driver fails to yield to Christ in crosswalk

Breakfast too much trouble in the morning? Combine to make bacon pancakes!

Confused about what action movie to see this summer? This flow-chart can help! Related: and this one can help you choose a typeface.

This sounds like something I would do. 13 years after leaving a job, man sends in resignation letter. Hmm… I do still have bookstore dreams a lot…

I have a secret (or maybe not so secret) fascination with tiny things (dollhouses, train sets, tilt-shift photography, munchkins) so this tiny Bag-End makes me all warm and fuzzy inside!

Lost Horizon Night Market – OK, Gainesvillians, it’s time to put our heads together and do something like this!

Wow; just… wow. Sir Ian McKellen mistaken for homeless man, given a dollar.

Now this is a team jersey I could wear – Literary sports team shirts. Hard to say which is my favorite, though. Prynne? Quixote?

I know I said last time I’d nix the LOST talk, but really… Dharma Initiative labels? These would be so fun for a LOST themed party!

OMG, this is like… the best ad, ever. It actually makes me want to buy a mobile home from these people.

So much catching up to do! All of these are from May (I think I’ll spare you and not link to the ones having to do with the LOST series finale; now that we’ve laid back and thought of England, that’s over with and there’s no sense beating a dead … surgeon).

The customer is not always right. But sometimes they’re grammatically funny.

Hee hee hee – the worst place to wander while arguing on a hands-free headset.

I would have stuck with the Girl Scouts if I’d known they had badges like this.

This Onion article had me laughing out loud – Supreme Court Upholds Freedom Of Speech In Obscenity-Filled Ruling

Oh, the irony. Century-old baby “mummy” finally buried; then stolen.

Here’s one for Sharon – did you know some people want to make Jonestown a tourist destination?!

Love this – Fun with Secret Questions & Answers.

Fascinating. Review of different flavored Kit-Kats. Ginger Ale? Really?

Here’s one for Tim – can we run away and live here?!

Apollo 11 revisited in slow-motion. Lovely!

xkcd reminds us that it’s all in how you look at it.

Very creative and lovely – Pencil vs. Camera

Keep calm and make your own.

I really want to start using this at the yarn store, to wrap packages – Spinal Tape.

The hell with wanting one as a kid (which I totally did) – but I want one now, too! Armoire opens into playroom. Very Narnia!

Sheep, Standard Poodle… whatever. They both start with “S”. Related: Here’s one for Quinn and Sharon. Tee hee hee. Be sure to click to see who wore it better!

Mmmmm, tasty! Cakes which my crafty friends will appreciate.

They make me laugh, they make me cry, and many of them I may even have on my shelves. The worst Science Fiction/Fantasy book covers.

Jonathan Carroll on seeing unmoving traffic.

I will now be ending everything I say with “Christ, what an asshole“. It *does* work for everything!

From the Department of Truly Effing Stupid: Handyman injured after cutting down branch against which he’d leaned his ladder. Oh yeah, and he’s suing his boss because of it!

Something tells me this doesn’t come from a smoke-free home.” Heh.

As an addendum to the other Octopus things I posted a few months ago: Octopus Steals Video Camera, Films Own Escape.

I loves me a good counter-protest, especially one with humor. Boston Tea Party members counter-protest the Teabaggers (I can’t use that term with a straight face) Tea Party Express.

A simple, but true, flow-chart for being happy.

We don’t have subways here in Gainesville, but having been in cities that do have them, I can definitely appreciate these Subway Etiquette posters!

Totally ganked this from Bonnie a couple weeks ago – this one’s for you, Sharon!
