Last week was Ceramics Week….

…. and I got a lot started!

Scenes from a work day

Scenes from a work day Thanks a pantsload, cat.

I’m still not 100% happy with my mug handles. I don’t really know why. They’re just… I don’t know. I have a feeling I want to evoke with these mugs and these particular handles don’t give off that vibe. I have some things I’m going to try next time it’s ceramic week, we’ll see how it goes.

I am, however, happy with my new yarn bowl yarn guide idea! And a resting place for needles!

Fat Cat was so happy I was working on clay that she decided to help. HAHAH.

And I finally got a bisque firing done! I almost have enough greenware to fire again, but none of it is cleaned, so it’ll be another couple of weeks. Why can’t my day be ten hours longer than everyone elses?! I mean, I guess I could make that happen by not sleeping, but that doesn’t sound like fun in the long run. Oh, creativity, why do you have to be so much fun!?

    • Tim has been reading up on mold-making; we’re getting some plaster and other supplies this weekend. One of the things I want him to make me is a little mold that’s like a stamp (think cookie stamp, or wax sealing stamp) that will be modeled off the image of one of our cat’s footprints. That way, if I can’t get the cat to run across the clay, I can fake it. 😉
