Spoiled again!
Okay, so y’all know how I’ve been doing this Not-so-secret-secret-pal exchange with Sophia and Jacquie? I got Jacquie’s package a couple of weeks ago, and this weekend got Sophia’s (she had an unfortunate loss in her family and was understandably busy).
Holy crap! What a haul! Here’s everything except for one item--
Dammit, the cat (I know, which one, right?) has just curled into my lap and gone right to sleep. Now I can’t walk to the other side of the room (the room? My office!) and pick up everything so I can write a proper thank-you. So if I forget to mention anything it’s Brindle’s fault (and that I’m dang tired, but, you know. Blame the cat.)
Magazines, candy (mmmmm!), office toys, stickers, a book by a fantastic columnist that they have up there, did I mention candy?, a great CD, a pattern that I’ve been lusting after ever since seeing Beth’s socks, sticky notes (also very funny sticky notes on all the objects), coffee that made everything smell divine, and the yarn! the yarn! One skein is so amazing I have to wait to talk about it (it’s in the extended)-- and that one thing is so faaaaabulous that even just that would have been enough! But wait! There’s more! Because the cat has moved and I can go get the yarn! A hank of “Terra” by The Fiber Company, which is a 60% Merino/20% Baby Alpaca/20% silk. I don’t want to knit with it. I want to marry it! Also three (3!) hanks of Koigu Kersti! I’m contemplating… I don’t know what. Maybe a lacy tank top?
There’s one more thing in the extended, and I have to warn you before you look that (a) it’s not for the faint of heart and (b) Sharon you will never ever ever steal this from me, not in a billion years, even though I know that you will try!
Sophia, thank you so much. I feel very, very spoiled, and also very very glad that I’ve met you and Jacquie (virtually, anyway). Rhinebeck? Drinkies? Knitting? It’s a date! I have to meet you two in person. Now if only we could get my friend Karen to come over from Scotland...!
Okay. The last skein of yarn. Are y’all ready...?
The name of the yarn? Do you really need to ask? “Bacon ‘n’ eggs.” HOW FUCKING BRILLIANT IS THIS? I want to frame it, it’s just so dang cool.
Thank you, to both Sophia and Jacquie. I have loved doing this NSSSP exchange, and would definitely be on board with doing another!

Bahahaha!
All together, now:
I'm coming for you someday/as faithful as a mummy...
BTW - how much do you love Sandra magazine??!!
(a group of young children wearing fair isle or heavily bobbled sweaters gathered around a campfire with hot dogs on sticks in hand)
"Hurrah, my sausage will be ready soon. Then I'll help the others since my outfit with cap, sweater and turnbacks keeps me warm."
"Lots of cables, structures and bobbles - my mummy really has gone all out so that I'll feel fine even at minus degrees."
Sophie is probably sick of hearing these entries but they still make me giggle. What kid talks like that?!
