Lady Eleanor; fini!
Lady Eleanor is ready for her close-up:
She is a little over 6 feet long, not counting the fringe.
Made with 10 balls of Berroco Foliage ("Coleus" colorway), and size 9 circular needles.
I started in February and haven’t exactly been cranking her out. I think it took an average of an hour a row, and she’s 37 rows long. Plus another hour to knot all that fringe! My aching back!
Another picture in the extended, artfully draped over the spinning wheel. Because you know, now that I have a spinning wheel, I have to take photos of everything draped over it.

Oh, Lady Eleanor, how doth thou tease me
If I were using size 10 1/2 needles, like the pattern calls for, instead of size 9’s; and La Lana Wools yarn, like the pattern calls for, instead of Berroco Foliage… I would be almost done with Lady Eleanor.
I’m 29 rows into it, and the pattern calls for 32. However, it’s only about 5 feet long, not close to 7. And I still have four balls of yarn left. Granted, one ball will be for the fringe, but still. I seem to be in a black hole of knitting. I spent about four hours on her yesterday - meaning I got about four rows done - and when I went to go update my progress bar, I realized I must have wonked up my math somewhere. According to my progress bar, last time I updated I was at 60%… when I did the math yesterday, I was at 58%. How can I knit for four hours and lose 2%?! That shit just ain’t right.

The Vagina Monologues - shawl
Here’s a shawl that I made for the upcoming raffle/auction for The Vagina Monologues; the proceeds of which go to charity. The shawl is made from Red Heart Light & Lofty and is (sigh) 100% acrylic. But it’s a rather soft acrylic, even softer than Lion Brand Homespun (in my opinion). On the down side, it splits easily. I don’t think I’d use this yarn again, due to the splitting. I am happy with the finished project, however.

My foliage wrap
This weekend, I finished knitting something for myself; something that I hadn’t done since November (meaning, it was more than time for me to do that because I was getting really jealous of all these other folks I’ve been knitting for!).
This is made with two strands of Berroco Foliage held together. Kelly had given me some “Chinese Lantern” for my birthday, and I liked it so much that when Katherine and Lynne got me a gift certificate to the yarn store, I ran out and got more of it and also some “Japanese Maple” to use in tandem. I used one strand of each and knitted up a pattern from Scarf Style (the pattern is titled “Misty Garden”. Of course my wrap is about three times wider than the scarf they had the pattern for, but that’s exactly what I wanted. Something I could drape over my shoulders on cold mornings, that wouldn’t interfere with typing but would still keep my shoulders and upper arms warm. I’m wearing it now since it’s thirty-fricking-six degrees outside and that means it’s not much warmer in my concrete block house. (Every year we say we’re going to get central heat and air installed, and we have yet to do it.) It is so warm and cozy I may never take it off!
There’s another picture in the extended.
