Have I mentioned how much I love knitting swaps?
Combining three of my addictions… knitting; Ravelry; and swaps.
I signed on for a “Summer Camp” swap in Ravelry, even though I only ever went to summer camp once and it was close to being the most socially hellish experience of my first fifteen years on the planet. This experience was muuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuch better! It turns out that the person I was spoiling was also spoiling me, and did she do me right or what?!
Let me mostly call your attention to that hot little black book of patterns. Eeeeeeeeee hee hee hee hee! Thank you, Shannon! I can’t wait to get started on those Valentine Candy pillows! Hey, I might have to make a couple of those for the store. Tee!

Ravelry, here I come!
I got my invite to Ravelry, whoo-hoo hoo-hooo! And on a Friday, so I have all! weekend! long! to play! I am as happy as a little girl!
I am “Haldechick” (there’s a surprise) so ... I need friends! Which sounds so… desperate. And sad. But… I do!

Yes! More prepping!
One day I will get my Ravelry invite (sneak peek, anyone?) and then I won’t blog for two weeks. Where will you people be then, I ask you!? WHERE WILL THAT LEAVE YOU? Sockless, is where; and without pictures of cats. And possibly not knowing how many calories are in poop.
Oh, god, it’s a good thing I’m married. Otherwise I might turn into the Crazy Cat Lady Who Knits and Drinks Wine All Night While Watching the Sci-Fi Channel.
Ahem.
(nobody mention, please, that that’s pretty much what I do now, thankyouverymuch)
Anyway. I took a break from yarn and entered my knitting books into Library Thing. I briefly thought about adding in all my science fiction books, and then reality laughed loudly at me at the thought of exactly how long that might take. AHAHAHAHAH! Like, forever. (thinks… thinks...) Okay, maybe this weekend or something; no, after Tim’s parent’s leave, I’ll add in just my favorite science fiction authors. Just my five favorite authors. Maybe ten.
Okay, if you don’t hear from me for two weeks? I may have gotten my Ravelry invite… but I may be entering my extensive library of SF into Library Thing. (This is the point where my mother throws up her hands and asks the blue sky why her daughter didn’t just become a damn librarian, already! HAH! Kidding, mom. You know I’m no good with people. Hee.)

More stash
Still prepping for Ravelry, on the edge of my seat about when I’m going to get my invitation (like most of knit-centered blogland, it seems)… Well, I’m about 90% done. I think there’s a couple of hanks of yarn in the other room that still needs to be photographed, and I still have to write names/descriptions for everything I just uploaded… but now - if you are strong of heart and mind - you can check out almost my entire yarn stash. I’ve been adding key words, too, so if you’re interested in sock yarn, yarn that isn’t sock yarn, or stuff I might consider trading or selling, you can see just those.
Looking over everything has made me want to knit lots of things. I need more arms!

Possibly maybe just a little bit crazy with the sock yarn
I have not yet gotten my Ravelry invite, but have been reading up on it and hear it’s a good plan to do some things to get ready in advance. One of those things is photographing and uploading your stash to Flickr, adding certain tags (like sock yarn). Here’s what I’ve got so far.
Y’all (and I’m putting money on Mim being the first person to make fun of me, and that’s only because Original Recipe Kelly doesn’t have Internet set up yet in NC) that’s just.the.sock.yarn. That’s all I’ve had time to do so far, and that’s taken me about three days (hey, there’s a lot of info to type in). And the above photo is only half-- the biggest mosaic option is for 36 photos. Care to see all 58?
