What kind of fuckery is this?

Hai! I’m twelve!
1. Put your music player on “random.” Skip songs with not-very interesting titles (such as “Concerto #4 in E minor")
2. List the titles of the first 25 songs to come up.
3. Put “in my pants” after each title.
4. Bold the ones that actually made you laugh.
1. Well, Did You Evah In My Pants
2. Fairytale of New York In My Pants
3. Love of the Common People In My Pants
4. Just the Way You Are In My Pants
5. I Take You With Me In My Pants
6. The Jean Genie In My Pants
7. Baby Got Back In My Pants
8. I Ain’t Marchin’ Anymore In My Pants
9. People are Talking In My Pants
10. Stories We Could Tell In My Pants
11. Save A Prayer In My Pants
12. Body Movin’ In My Pants
13. Leavin’ Kentucky In My Pants
14. Do You Really Want to Hurt Me In My Pants
15. Rapid Roy (The Stock Car Boy) In My Pants
16. You’re Beautiful In My Pants
17. You’ve Got to Hide Your Love Away In My Pants
18. It can’t Rain all the Time In My Pants
19. Occasionally In My Pants
20. You’re the One that I Want In My Pants
21. Only The Good Die Young In My Pants
22. Me and Bobby McGee In My Pants
23. Whiter Shade of Pale In My Pants
24. Istanbul (Not Constantinople) In My Pants
25. You Know I’m No Good In My Pants
And the verdict? I am twelve, because really I thought most of these were freaking HIGH-larious. Also, I have a very eclectic music collection.

My iPod is my Magic Eight-Ball
Ever have one of those moments when the random song that comes up on your iPod has the lyrics that you really need to hear?
Ever have it happen twice?

The Top 5 (plus 2) Artists on Animal the iPod
I know you are all dying of curiosity, itching to find out who - out of all the varied music that I like - who are the artists of which I have the most music on my iPod? Well, I could tell you wanted to know that. Plus, it’s too smoky outside for me to walk the dog this morning. Also, a quick look at my front page tells me that I need something to talk about besides (a) knitting and (b) vacation photos.
Care to hazard a guess before you click on the extended...?

Playlist: Walk slow #2
Yes, I know, I haven’t yet posted about the Walk Slow playlist #1. But I just put this one together this morning before going for a walk, as a couple of the songs are in heavy rotation on Animal right now anyway.
Playlist name: Walk slow #2
Number of songs: 17
Length of playlist: 1.02 hours

Playlist: Walk fast #1
Sometimes in the morning it’s too early for a book on tape, and it’s too early for a podcast. So, it’s on to music, where I don’t have to have any comprehension skills. I love the playlist feature! Here’s one of my playlists for when I need a boost for walking. Fast music keeps my feet moving faster.
Playlist name: Walk fast #1
Number of songs: 20
Length of playlist: 1.2 hours
And now on to the ecclectica of titles…

“The Sweater”
Hi, yes, this week we are all about the YouTube at Chez Snark.
Two of my sisters-in-law have played this artist for me (Meryn Cadell), and this song is funny as crap. The video is kind of scary, in a late 80’s/early 90’s kind of flashback way. If you are a girl who has ever had a crush on a boy, it’s funny. If you are a knitter, the last few lines are hysterical.

When Irish eyes are smiling
Quinn? And maybe Marie? I want you both to sit down.
My friends who live in New York right now, Carol and Eric, called me the other night.
The Pogues are coming to New York City.
Shane MacGowan will be singing.
Tickets went on sale yesterday, at noon. They were getting some. Did I want to go, too? It would mean flying to New York…
I would go anywhere - anywhere - in the United States to see Shane MacGowan.
And on March 18th of 2006, I will be. Let the countdown begin: I’M GOING TO SEE THE POGUES!!!!
Carol? Eric? I love you two for thinking of me and calling to find out if I wanted tickets too (I mean, I love you for lots of reasons, but that just really jumps to the top of the line today!)

Pandora
This is interesting-- tell them what music you like, and they recommend similar music. I’m still exploring, but thought I’d share…

The Soundtrack from My Personal Coming-Of-Age Film
...find the Top 100 songs from the year you graduated from high school, list ‘em on your site, highlight the ones you like and cross out the ones you hate. You underline your favorite, and ignore the ones to which you’re kind of indifferent.
Since I don’t have a highlight feature, we’ll skip that one. Instead, I’ll underline the ones I like as none of these are “my favorites.” I have to agree with Accordion Guy; although these are the Top 100 from Billboard, they’re not my personal Top 100. Which makes me ashamed to admit how many of the lyrics became trapped in my head upon reading the titles. Some of them, though, I don’t remember ever even hearing.

The Stephens Brothers CD release
I got this in an email the other day and keep forgetting to post about it (unfortunately there seems to be something wrong with that link...):
I’m excited to announce the release of this cd that I’ve been working on for the last year and a half.
There are nine original songs by my brother and I (Rick and John Stephens).
You can hear samples of the songs and buy if you like online at the following address:
http://www.cdbaby.com/stephensbros
Please check it out and pass this on if you know someone that might be interested.
Also locally in Gainesville you can buy the cd at Hyde and Zeke’s records and Liphams Music Store.
This is the band that played our wedding, and they did a really amazing job. Sadly, Rick passed away last year. I’m looking forward to picking up this album.

I do so heart me some Paddy Moloney
And in less than 12 hours, I’ll be hearing The Chieftains live for the first time. After years and years and years (and years) of listening to them on album (yes!) and CD, I finally get to see them live.
I’ll try not to embarrass y’all.
