A Day in the Life

The other week I mentioned maybe making some acorn-shaped soaps for the Fall (Fall is coming, right? Cooler weather? The end of Hurricane season?) and I also found my old maple leaf soap mold. So I'm thinking about making some of those as well, in special Fall/Maple-type fragrances... Did I post this already? Here's one of the last firings I rushed through right before Big Bang Bazaar at the end of August. I love, love, love those vases but unfortunately the glaze did something wacky on the inside and I need to reglaze them and put them through the kiln again. Some of the rest of these are restocks and some are new things that I'll be working on getting on the site as quickly as I can this week! Troublesome approves of my decision to make some waffle cone ice cream bowls in chocolate! New colorway Salted Caramel, in the Tiptree base. Tiptree is one of my original base yarns and using it you can see why it has such great sticking power. A 100% superwash merino base, the yarn practically drinks in the dye and gives a deep, rich tone. Tiptree comes in 400 yard/100 g putups and has a nice, sturdy twist. It's definitely my go-to base for socks and gloves. One thing I'm working on this week is wrapping soap, including some of these completely adorable haunted house soaps. They'll be a part of my upcoming Halloween soap set - hopefully I'll have everything wrapped by the end of this week, but it might be next because I have a lot of yarn to dye as well. Stay tuned....!
