The Four Muskateers

The fam'

One of my awesome extended family members, Mike Glicksohn, passed away yesterday suddenly. He’d been battling, and beating, cancer for years, and out of left field was taken from us by a stroke. I mean, we knew it was going to happen eventually; and sooner rather than later… but it’s hard to think when someone is putting up such a brave and beautiful fight (and is such a brave and beautiful person) that you really might need to say your goodbyes.

Mike is second in this photo, between Aunt Gay and Uncle Joe (and check out Rusty’s still-rusty-colored-hair!). He was also, by a fluke, in last week’s awesome family photo. I have posted some more photos of Mike on Flickr. He was a big, scruffy, gentle man who loved living, loving. science fiction, and math. I have the love for jigsaw puzzles that I have because of him. And probably the love for big, scruffy, gentle men.

The world is a little darker today.

  1. What a fabulous photo!

Thanks, too, for the links to the other photos, too. Each one conveys Mike’s enjoyment of the wonderful people in his life.

Condolences to you, your wondrous Aunt & Uncle, and to all of Mike’s friends and family everywhere.
